the past decade has witnessed an increasingly inseparable relationship between man and internet. as is vividly depicted in the picture, within a stretching spider web many people are surfing on line, either to entertain themselves or to meet the work#39;s needs. actually on-line visiting has become a routine activity in our everyday life. however, it seems rather ironic to present people separated from each other by the spider web when they attempt to communicate.
the metaphoric and impressive portrayal has subtly revealed the duality of the relationship between man and internet. the spider web undoubtedly serves as a symbol of internet, both connecting people and isolating them from each other. on the one hand, there is no denying that internet is currently one of the most efficient media used for interpersonal communication. as a college student, i get on line everyday to discuss news with other people on bbs, to study english by registering for web courses, to chat freely through e-mails with my friends. being a veteran on-line shopper, i frequently bargain with sellers to purchase books at much lower prices. but on the other hand, a good many people admit that they are too much addicted to internet to maintain face-to-face contact with their friends and colleagues. cyber-living resembles the experience of seeing disguised people behind a mask, maintaining distance between one another. once indulged in the fictitious world, people feel reluctant to approach others and to concentrate on real life. that#39;s why some people have lost the skill of direct contact and get alienated from others.
therefore, it is necessary for us to use internet in a reasonable way and restrain from addiction. after all, internet is invented to connect you and me, and to bring conveniences to our life rather than set a barrier to keep people beyond reach.

一、要量化分数
确定自己应该能写到哪个档次的水平。做到心中有数。从大小作文来看，“稳拿”的分数究竟在哪一个档次，在此基础上，能力范围之内再做提升。如果基础相对比较弱的同学，不要一味地追求高，难的写作风格，一不留神容易出错，适得其反。其中，针对所有学生的建议就是：小作文要做到：“简单”，不要特别复杂的词与句;“正确”，尽量做到不要出现错误就好，词汇的正确性，语法结构的正确使用都是很重要的;“清晰”，针对性的做到题干要求的一定要写到，最好做到在句与句之间的层次，逻辑以及条理清晰。而对于大作文，除了做到上面要的几点之外，就要求大家尽量学习一些词汇和句式都相对高级点的来做替换，在大作文上面尽量体现自己的语言水准。
二、量化文章的字数
考研英语的写作是有字数要求的，一般小作文100字，大作文，英语一的要求是200字，英语二的要求是160左右。一般建议大家可多不可少，但是字数多的话也要适度，超出要求范围20个字左右可以接受，要考虑到万一写太多，一是错误出现的概率比较大，二来对于阅卷老师来讲会觉得啰嗦，不能在规定的范围内完成思想的表达;三则会导致卷面留出来的写作空间不够大家发挥就更加麻烦了。那么常规来看，写三段，这就要求大家做到能量化在每一段能够写的字数范围大概在多少字。比如，如果是图画描述，最好能控制在50字左右，从句子的量化来看，差不到3-4句话，有长有短，可以保证在有限的字数之内规定应该能完成的任务要求。而对于最后的段落则是弹性相对比较大的，可根据前文的结构和字数来调整最后一段到底写多少是合适的，如果前文篇幅较长，后文则简单收尾，不必太细化。但是，如果前文相对内容有欠缺，字数太少，则可根据最后一段做弥补。
三、突击大作文第二段
从重要性来讲，还是从字数来讲都是考生最为关注的一段。也是用所谓的“模板”最少的一段，那么如果想做到有话可讲，则要尽可能细的列提纲，(考场上时间是不允许的)。所以在接下来不到一个月的复习过程当中，要尽量做到每写一篇大作文都要打草稿细化第二段的内容，做到结构合理，内容不重复，然后再在前期积累的基础上做到字词句的丰富化和多样化，最后又有亮点的体现，以保证作文能够在最后有一个很大的提升，争取取得比较满意的成绩!

i think the media pay too much attention to the private lives of famous people. television, newspaper magazines and web sites dig up all kinds of past bad actions. they say that these are true reflections of a person"s character. this may be true if they occurred only a few years before, but some of these are things people did as teenagers. people in their forties are expected to explain something they did when they were fifteen. if they killed someone, obviously that"s more than a youthful mistake. usually, though, these incidents involve experiments with drugs or being reckless in a car. they"re not something that the public needs to know.
the media love to say that the public has a right to know. that"s not true. we don"t need to know if a movie star or politician has had an extramarital affair. that is something of concern only to the people involved. we do need to know if someone we"re electing to public office has been involved in shady business deals, but we don"t need to know if he or she defaulted on a loan twenty years ago.
it seems the media dig up these facts without giving thoughtful consideration to what might happen. it has an effect on the celebrity"s family, especially the children. a celebrity"s good name and credibility may be ruined before he or she can prove that rumors are false. if a case goes to court, paying a lawyer can use up all their money. even if it doesn"t come to that, they may find their career ruined.
when are we, the public, going to make it clear to the media that we"re tired of having to watch this kind of thing on the news? wouldn"t it be better if they would concentrate on more important issues?

一、格式
1.称呼：
英语应用文称呼有这样的特点：
1)如果是不认识的人，一般称呼为敬词+尊称。
例如，dear sir or madam 或者to whom it may concern (需注意每个单词首字母都大写)。
2)如果是写给关系正式的某团体或个人，称呼为敬词+尊称+名。
例如，dear mr. xx,或dear ms.xx;
3)对于关系较亲密的人可以直呼其名，即 dear xx。
同时需要注意的是：1.称呼要顶格写;2. 称呼之后要加逗号或者冒号。这里推荐大家用逗号，因为历年的高分范文都是用逗号的。
2.正文：
正文格式一般有两种格式：一是缩进式，即首段开头空四个字母，段落之间不空行; 另一种是齐头式，即每段开头不空格，但是各段之间空一行。**老师建议考生采用缩进式，因为如果用齐头式，段间空行的话很可能答题空间不够，导致字数不够。
3.结语：
结语要注意要留出两行。一行是靠后写类似汉语此致敬礼的话也就是sincerely yours， 或者yours sincerely ，一定要注意这个地方的结尾是有逗号的，如果丢掉了逗号，则会扣掉一份，请大家一定要注意。同时，还需要注意落款，落款部分不能写自己的名字。按照directions 中的要求使用名字。同时请大家注意名字后面一定不要加任何的符号。很多的学生喜欢在此打点号，请大家一定要注意，这里会被扣掉一分。
二、语言
写作用词准确是最基础的要求之一。其次，句型可以多变，例如既有并列句，也有复合句，还有从句，但注意语法运用要正确。此外还要注意，正式语言一般是写给具有正式关系的团体或机构，这种情况不用缩略语和口语用法。英语二的小作文一般写给正式关系的机构的文章片偏多。除了正式的文体以外，其他的文体皆为非正式文体，像写给朋友的书信等。英语一的小作文就是较为非正式一些。
一般小作文的考查要求中会体现出写该篇的目的和场合，所以考生在写作时要注意针对不同场合使用不同语言，使交流得以进行。另外，考生也要注意不同的应用文有不同的用语。建议考生对某些应用文的格式和习惯用语，应该加以熟悉和背诵，以便运用自如。
三、其他
考生在考试时注意在看到题目要求后不要忙于动笔，虽说小作文的字数充其量在一百多个单词，但是依旧要在脑子里理清思路。最好能够在仔细审题以后，认真列个提纲，这样更有利于思路清晰。
写作时，注意表达清楚以下几个方面：
首先交代清楚写信目的;其次为了让阅卷者对你的文章结构及表意一目了然，注意关联词或衔接词的运用;接下来，应该对个人的观点进行阐述。最后，行文间要注意简化描述，用简短的语句代替冗长的语句。在作文完成的时候，应该检查、修改，以免遗漏一些需要表达清楚的要点和细节。
